Serving the local community for more than 45 years

Strachan Vets was first opened in 1970 serving the local community, and continues to do so with branches in South Heaton and Tynemouth.

We are proud to be independently owned and run by experienced vets, with a focus on providing a high standard of veterinary care with compassion and empathy at the heart of all we do. We provide a range of services for dogs, cats, and other small animals, from primary vaccination courses for new arrivals, to caring and supportive care for ongoing medical conditions. By understanding the importance of the bond between people and their pets we are committed to providing a first class service to our patients and their owners.

Our staff are the practice’s most valuable asset, and through supporting their welfare and continued professional development we can maintain a happy, healthy team. We recognise the importance of supporting the next generation of veterinary nurses and are an accredited training practice, working closely with local colleges in offering apprenticeships and placements for students.
